Learning and Mastery
The only thing better than seeing all those shades of knowledge is actually being able to do something about them
Have you ever seen that commercial where the two consultants give a great presentation and the CEO says, "Okay, go do it!" Then the consultants backpedal and reply something like, "Well, we don’t actually do the work."
That’s not us. We actually do the work. And we do the work of getting your people to Mastery better than any other learning system that we’ve ever seen. We do it faster, cheaper and with better results. In fact, we do it so well that we blow up the bell curve. Is that claim shocking to you? Well it should be, because all our lives we’ve been told that grading should show a bell curve and differentiate between learners. But not anymore. Anyone who enters our Learning product will get to Mastery. We know this because we’ve had over 30,000 users in our system and they’ve all achieved Mastery. So what is there, some kind of magic black box you put learners through?
Yes. We’ve cleverly employed this new invention called technology. It’s the same stuff that now lets you book your own airline ticket or search for information on the Internet. Cutting edge stuff, but somebody had to do it.
What we do is actually pretty complex under the cover (algorithms and stuff), but to an author and a learner it’s really simple.
- When learners go through the Knowledge Factor Assessments they (and you) see all their shades of knowledge in our unique Learning Center results page ( click here to see the Learning Center).
- Then they just click on the questions they got wrong and presto, a page of information appears showing them the original question, their incorrect answer, the correct answer, and then a complete explanation of the correct answer so that they fully learn about the subject matter right then and there while they are curious (we call this a heightened learning moment and it leads to deeper learning and better retention). Any information can be loaded here including images, graphs, multimedia, links to other sites, or even explanations about why the wrong answer was wrong ( click here to see an explanation).
- After reviewing all their incorrect answers, and learning about the right answers, the learners then re-enter another "learning loop." Here they are confronted with a new set of randomized questions. These questions are chosen and served up through our algorithm that maximizes exposure to the content that needs the most remediation (Misinformed) and minimizes exposure to the content that needs the least (Mastery). This highly efficient and effective process repeats itself as many times as necessary until learners get to 100% Mastery.
